The Hulk: A Pioneering Piece of Web Wizardry History
In 2003, we created a synchronized takeover banner ad for Universal Pictures' The Hulk that ran on Yahoo!'s homepage. Two separate Flash units communicated to trigger audio and visual events in sync—a technical feat for the dial-up era. Blah. Blah. Blah. – A Generative Art Piece on Noise and Overload
Blah. Blah. Blah. is an interactive generative art piece that transforms speech into an overwhelming flood of text and sound. Using real-time mouth detection with TensorFlow.js, the experience reacts when users open their mouths, triggering an avalanche of Helvetica-stamped words and escalating audio feedback. Playful yet thought-provoking, the project explores information overload, digital noise, and the illusion of control in modern communication. Users quickly go from engaged participants to overwhelmed spectators, mirroring the chaos of an always-on media landscape.Try it here: lab.koalition.com/blah

Speak Up: An Interactive Voice-to-Typography Experience
Koalition® is launching an interactive art playground—a space to experiment with digital interactivity, motion, and generative design. Over the next year, the goal is to create 20 interactive art installations, culminating in a physical exhibition in Bushwick, NY and Athens, GA. The first piece in the series, Speak Up, transforms spoken words into dynamic, physics-based typography. Using React, Matter.js, and GSAP, the project visualizes speech as floating, colliding letters that respond to movement and force. This is just the beginning of an exploration into how technology can make sound, motion, and language tangible, interactive, and expressive.Check it out
