Pioneering synchronized takeover banner campaign for Universal Pictures' 2003 Hulk film. Multi-unit Flash banners with coordinated audio ran on Yahoo!'s homepage, reaching 10 million people.

The Challenge

Universal Pictures needed a digital advertising campaign that would dominate Yahoo!'s homepage—one of the most trafficked pages on the internet in 2003. The campaign had to capture the raw power and intensity of The Hulk while pushing the boundaries of what was technically possible in web advertising. With the film representing a major tentpole release backed by a massive marketing budget that included a $2.1 million Super Bowl spot, the digital component needed to match the scale and impact of the traditional media campaign.
