A creative tool for dynamic environments
Koalition created the website and design tool for Inside Shapes — Shaw Contract's modular carpet collection, designed in collaboration with Stockholm-based studio Form Us With Love. The brief: introduce the collection to Shaw's customers, and give designers a way to actually work with it.
When carpet needed its own design tool
Carpet specification is usually a catalog-and-spreadsheet process — designers pick tiles, sketch layouts in Photoshop or on graph paper, send specs, wait for samples. Form Us With Love had a more ambitious idea: pair the collection with a real-time configurator designers could actually use to design floors, and route straight from canvas to order.
Modular tiles, in real-time
Koalition built the React-based interactive tool that powers the experience. Designers drag modular tiles onto the canvas, visualize the layout as it grows, swap colorways and orientations, save concepts, and move from canvas to spec to install without leaving the experience. The tool sits inside a broader brand site that introduces the collection and the collaboration.
From mood board to install
Inside Shapes is a flooring brand that gave its customers something rare in B2B: an actual creative tool. Designers stay in. Specs flow out. Shaw turned its specification process into a creative one — and gave designers a reason to spend time inside the brand rather than skip past it.
